From navigating between screens and accessing app settings to comparing edits and exporting your photos, these controls help you manage your editing workflow from start to finish.
### Top Toolbar The Top Toolbar sits at the top of the Edit screen, providing essential icons to help you navigate, personalize, and finalize your editing experience.
#### Back Tap the Back icon to return to the previous view. Your work is non-destructive, so changes are saved automatically unless you explicitly discard them. Use this to switch images, return to browsing, or exit editing at any time. #### Settings Menu (Three-Dot Menu) This is your app settings and support center. Tap the three dots to open a menu with system-level options—ideal for customizing how Luminar responds to you and accessing helpful resources when needed. #### Share This button opens the export panel (as covered in “Sharing Your Work”). It’s visible throughout editing, so you can share your final image the moment it’s ready. ### Quick Actions Quick Actions appear above the tool panel and provide fast access to commonly used editing controls.
#### Undo / Redo Tap the undo arrow to remove your last change, or the redo arrow to reapply it. These tools help you quickly step backward or forward through your edits without losing progress. #### Preview Original vs Edited Want to compare your edits to the original photo? After making adjustments, tap and hold anywhere on the image or use the Show Original button in the right corner of the Quick Actions bar.\ The original (Before) image is displayed while the button is pressed or while your finger remains on the screen. Release to return to the edited (After) version. This option helps you see exactly how far you’ve come — perfect for checking subtle or significant changes.
### Zoom and Full Screen View
#### Double Tap to Zoom Double-tap the photo to zoom in. When zoomed in, Luminar centers the view around the area you tapped. Double-tap again to return to the previous zoom level. #### Pinch to Zoom Use a two-finger pinch gesture to zoom in or out of your image. #### Full Screen View Tap once on the photo to enter Full Screen View. In this mode, the tool panel and Tab Bar are hidden, allowing you to focus on your image. You can continue to zoom and pan the image while in Full Screen View. Tap the Back icon to return to the editing workspace. ### More About the Settings Menu Tap the **three dots (...) Settings** button to open Luminar’s app-wide preferences and support tools.
Here’s what each menu option does: #### Your Account Here you can: * View the email address associated with your account. * Manage **Luminar Space** sync settings, including **Sync Across Devices** and **Use Cellular for Sync**. * Access **System Info** for troubleshooting. * Merge Luminar accounts. * Sign out of your account or delete it if needed. #### License View your current license type and manage your subscription. Tapping this option opens your account page in your web browser, where you can check your license status, update your payment method, or manage your subscription. #### App Settings Customize your editing experience: * **Sound** - toggle sound effects on or off. This affects UI interactions like tapping buttons and adjusting sliders. Leave it on for audible feedback or turn it off for silent, focused editing—especially useful in quiet environments. * **Haptic** - enable or disable vibration feedback for your touch actions. Haptics provide subtle physical confirmation when interacting with sliders and tools. It’s a tactile way to feel your edits as you make them, but can be disabled if preferred. #### Support Need help? Tap here to open the support portal. This includes FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and a way to contact Skylum’s customer support team directly. It’s a lifeline if you’re stuck or have questions about a tool or feature. #### User Guide Access the full mobile guide inside the app. While you're reading this manual, the in-app version is always a tap away—great for referencing tool details or learning about features as you work. #### Privacy Policy Review Skylum’s policies on how your data is used, stored, and protected. Luminar is designed with privacy in mind, and this section outlines your rights and Luminar's responsibilities. #### Terms of Use Read the terms and conditions for using Luminar. This legal overview helps you understand the rules for usage, content ownership, and limitations. #### About Us Learn about Skylum — the team behind Luminar. Discover their vision, history, and other tools like Luminar Neo. This section helps you connect with the creators of the software you’re using. ### Sharing Your Work Once you've completed your edit, it's time to share your creation. Tap the **Share** icon at the top-right of the Edit screen to open the sharing panel. You then have several ways to export or share your image:
#### Share Send a lightweight version of your image through any app installed on your phone — Messages, Gmail, Instagram, WhatsApp, and more. This version is optimized for quick sharing, so it sends fast while still looking great. Great for client previews, social posts, or real-time updates. #### Save a Copy This saves a copy of your enhanced photo directly to your phone’s camera roll. The original image remains untouched, so you always have a version you can go back to. Use this if you want to keep a high-resolution, edited version on your device. #### Replace Original *(available for certain photos)* Replace the original photo with your edited version instead of creating a new copy. You can adjust the export quality before replacing the original, while the original file format is preserved. Use this option when you want to keep your Photos library clean without creating duplicate edited copies. {% hint style="warning" %} **Replace Original** is available only for photos added to Luminar from the **Apple Photos** library, including via "**Open in Luminar"**. **Replace Original** isn't available for: * Photos added from the **Files** app. * Photos captured directly in Luminar.
