# Saving & Exporting Files

Luminar on Web saves your editing progress as you work, so you can return to a photo and continue editing without manually saving your adjustments. When your photo is ready, you can export a finished copy to your computer.

#### Saving Adjustments

There’s no need to manually save your edits while working in Luminar on Web. Your adjustments are saved automatically and remain associated with the photo.\
You can return to **All Photos**, reopen the image, and continue editing from where you left off.

#### Exporting a Photo

When you’re ready to save a finished copy, select **Export** in the upper-right corner of the editing workspace.

Choose one of the available options:

* **JPEG Full Size.** Exports the photo as a JPEG at full size and 100% quality.
* **JPEG Small Size.** Exports a smaller JPEG at 80% quality.
* **Previous Settings.** Reuses the settings from your previous export. This option appears after you have exported a photo at least once.
* **Custom Settings.** Opens additional options for choosing the file name, format, size, and quality.

#### Custom Settings

Select **Custom Settings** when you want more control over the exported file.

* **Name.** Enter a name for the exported photo.
* **Format.** Choose **JPEG**, **PNG**, or **TIFF**.
* **Size.** Export the photo at **Full Size**, **50%**, or **25%** of the available dimensions.
* **Quality.** When available for the selected format, adjust the quality of the exported image.

Select **Save** to export the photo. The finished file is downloaded through your browser.

#### Which Format Should I Choose?

* **JPEG.** A good choice for everyday sharing and web use. It offers a balance between image quality and file size.
* **PNG.** A lossless format useful when you want to preserve image quality for further use.
* **TIFF.** A high-quality format suitable for further editing or printing.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The maximum available export resolution depends on your browser. Safari and other iOS browsers currently support up to **4000 pixels on the long edge**, while Chrome and Firefox support up to **6000 pixels on the long edge**.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://support.skylum.com/luminar-for-web/how-to-use-luminar-for-web/saving-and-exporting-files.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
