Luminar for Desktop walkthrough

Luminar for Desktop is designed to make photo editing intuitive and powerful, whether you're a beginner or a pro. We'll walk you through all tools and features, from importing images to applying AI-powered enhancements and making creative edits. Let’s get started!

The Catalog, Presets, and editing tools are available from the same screen, allowing you to browse and edit your photos without switching between separate sections.

Browse your photos

Use the Catalog to browse your folders, albums, and photos. The navigation path at the top shows your current location, while the Back and Forward arrows allow you to return to a previous view or move forward.

Access editing tools, presets, and photo information

The panel on the right provides quick access to the main options for working with your photos. You can switch between these options while keeping your photo visible.

  • Presets — apply ready-made looks and styles

  • Tools — access main editing tools

  • Edits — view and manage the applied adjustments

  • Extra — access advanced tools, including: - Generative (GenErase, GenSwap, GenExpand) - Enhancement (Upscale, Restoration) - Merge (HDR Merge, Focus Stacking, Panorama Stitching)

  • Info — photo details and metadata.

Explore tutorials, learning content, and creative assets

At the bottom of the left panel, you’ll find additional resources to help you learn and get more from Luminar for Desktop.

  • Tutorials — explore guided tutorials and learn how to use Luminar for Desktop’s features

  • Learn Photography — browse photography courses and e-books

  • Creative Library — browse creative assets such as skies, overlays, backgrounds, etc.

Check your account

Select your profile in the lower-left corner to access your account, check your license, and manage profile settings.
