AI Assistant

The AI Assistant in Luminar Neo helps you edit photos using text queries. It analyzes your specific image along with your query and recommends solutions based on its knowledge base. Just type in your prompt, and the AI Assistant will:

• Analyze your photo and provide editing recommendations.

• Guide you to the appropriate tools in Luminar Neo.

• Offer ready-to-use adjustments that are well-suited for your situation.

An internet connection is required for the AI Assistant to work.

Evoking the AI Assistant

To start the chat with the AI Assistant, click on the icon in the bottom right corner:

For even quicker access, use the shortcut on your keyboard:

• Cmd + K (on MacOS)

• Ctrl + K (on Windows)

AI Assistant is available in the Presets and Edit tabs. It is not accessible from the Catalog view.

Typing in the prompt

In the window that opens, you will see several suggestions to help you get started. You can choose one of them or type your own question or prompt. You can ask the AI Assistant to do something with your photo, for example, to fix the white balance or to turn it into black & white. Also, you can seek advice on how to achieve a certain look, for example: "How to make the colors muted?" or "How to make it appear as a sunset?"

Click the Enter button on your keyboard or the arrow at the right side of the bar to send your query. AI Assistant might take some time to think, and then it will reply to you with thumbnails of your photo and a description of the changes that they contain.

Navigation buttons

1. Resetting a chat This button will completely clear the chat history for the current photo. Before resetting, a notification will pop up asking whether you want to proceed with deleting the chat history. This action cannot be undone.

2. Expanding the window This button will expand the chat window so that you can better see the chat and there is more space for the text.

3. Hiding the chat window This button will hide the window so that it does not interfere with your editing workspace and the toolset. You can reopen the window at any time, and all the chat history will be saved.

Applying the Edits

Click on the thumbnails to see what the AI Assistant offers you. After clicking on the preview, you'll see "Applying Preset" and a spinning wheel indicator.

Using edits from an AI assistant is similar to applying a preset, as it replaces all previous modifications made to the photo. Each Edit is a separate Preset.

After applying the changes, you can click the "x" to hide the chat and switch to the Edits panel to view the applied tools. You can revisit each of the tools and adjust the sliders as needed.

The AI Assistant cannot be accessed if Luminar Neo is open in plugin mode.
